About The North Pole Express
Saint Michael School in North Andover is once again hosting this special holiday event. The 9th Annual Train Ride will be departing from the Newburyport MBTA Train Station on Saturday, December 12, 2015. There are four rides traveling throughout that day. All are invited to come along for the ride of a lifetime.
Upon arriving at the train station, pajama-clad passengers will be greeted by holiday characters who will entertain you while you wait for your train. New this year, the Santa's Workshop. Come inside, where the excitement begins. There will be crafts and photo opportunities with Santa’s friends. Once on board the train, you pick a seat in your beautifully decorated train car and prepare yourself for a magical adventure. The ride is filled with caroling, holiday trivia, story telling, a scrumptious cookie, cool drink and lots of friends while traveling to the North Pole. When you arrive, Santa Claus and his Elves will join in on the fun. Along with them will be more of everyone’s favorites including Mrs. Claus.
In conjunction with this festive holiday event, Saint Michael School will be holding a TOY AND FOOD DRIVE to help those in need. Bins will be set-up at the train station for you to drop off a new, unwrapped toy, or a non-perishable food item for the less fortunate.
Saint Michael School is a Catholic Elementary School educating children in nursery through grade eight. The North Pole Express is presented by the school’s PTO. There are approximately three hundred volunteers who work hard to make this a successful and enjoyable event. Some of the volunteers began organizing and working a year ago. It is a sizable event with many different roles and jobs. The volunteers consist of parents, friends, family, students and parishioners who come together as a community. All of the time and dedication it takes to produce this adventure is worth it when the children arrive at the ‘North Pole’, see Santa and his crew, and are smiling from ear to ear!
