Who runs the North Pole Express?
The North Pole Express is run by the PTO of Saint Michael School in North Andover, Massachusetts. All of the 300 plus staff and characters are volunteers who have given their time to make this a magical ride.

How do I purchase tickets?
All tickets are sold online by credit card only, click here to buy your tickets. Review all your information for accuracy before you “buy”. NO CASH SALES & NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS.
How do I receive confirmation of purchase and get my tickets?
Ticket purchase confirmation will be sent to the email provided at the time of purchase which contains ticketing information. Please note that your emailed order confirmation will serve as your parking pass. Please print this order confirmation and place on the dashboard to avoid being ticketed. The email that you use to purchase your ticket will be the email that is used to communicate with you. In many cases, these emails may land in Junk/Spam folders, so please be sure to check there. If you still have no receipt of an email confirming your purchase, please email [email protected] with your name, email, number of tickets purchased and ride time, and we will check for you.
Should I print my tickets?
Yes, a printer will be needed; buyer prints tickets and may also print directions if needed. You must present your printed ticket at Check-In. You will receive a wrist band for admission onto the train. Please also note that your emailed order confirmation will serve as your parking pass. Please print this order confirmation and place on the dashboard to avoid being ticketed.
Do I need to purchase a ticket for my one year old?
Children under the age of 12 months are not required to have a ticket, but must sit on a parent or ticket-holder's lap.
May I bring a car seat or stroller?
Car Seats and Strollers are not allowed on the train. Aisles, entries and exits on the train cars must remain clear.
Are seats reserved?
You may reserve a specific train car, but seats within the cars are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
When should we arrive?
Riders should check-in 1 hour prior to their ride time to enjoy Santa's Workshop. If you do not intend to visit Santa's Workshop, please check-in 30 minutes prior to ride time. All riders will receive a bracelet to board the train.
We are meeting other families for the ride and would like to sit together. How do we arrange this?
Families wishing to sit together on a train car should purchase tickets for the same car. If you have already purchased tickets on different cars, please arrive 1 hour prior to ride time, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Is there a fee for parking?
The cost of parking in the MBTA lots is included in your ticket price. Please note that your emailed order confirmation will serve as your parking pass. Please print this order confirmation and place on the dashboard to avoid being ticketed.
How long is the trip to the North Pole?
The train ride takes approximately 70 minutes. Riders should be at the Newburyport Commuter Rail Station at least 1 hour prior for check-in to enjoy Santa's Workshop.
Are refreshments available?
As part of the ride, each rider is offered a scrumptious cookie and cool drink.
Are you a peanut/dairy free environment?
No. If someone in your party has an allergy, we suggest you bring your own beverage and snack, so they can take part in the refreshments.
What is Santa's Workshop?
Santa's Workshop is an extension of the North Pole Express train ride. Santa’s elves and reindeer will be available for free photo opportunities. There will also be crafts for the children.
Will we see Santa Claus?
Yes! Santa and his elves board the train in the North Pole and walk through and visit with the children on each car.
I can’t find my tickets, what do I do?
Ticket purchase confirmation will be sent to the email provided at the time of purchase which contains ticketing information. Please post your tickets on our Ticket Resale page by clicking here. Buyers may post the availability of tickets along with contact information. Tickets may only be sold for face value, $25. This page is managed by the North Pole Express staff, however we are not responsible for communication and exchange between parties.
What if there is inclement weather?
Come prepared, the North Pole Express Train will take place sun, rain or snow! Arrive prepared!
Does the North Pole Express have a lost and found?
Yes, it is located in Santa's Workshop the day of the event only. Otherwise, send an email to [email protected] with your contact and “lost” information.
